Essendo la più giovane fotografa dell’Agenzia, le venivano affidati lavori minori come sfilate di moda, aste d’arte o feste locali. In queste immagini emerge il suo interesse per gli aspetti bizzarri della vita quotidiana, lo sposare la teoria del “momento decisivo” di Henri Cartier-Bresson e anche una certa vicinanza al movimento artistico del Surrealismo.
The worksharing with such incredible photographers and being part of such a young but also ambitious reality urged her to approach photography, looking independently for her life.
First pictures, because she was the youngest member of the agency, are always attributed to minor works like fashion shows, art auctions or local festivals.
But at the same time in these pictures there are her particular vision of bizarre aspects of everyday life, the theory of “decisive moment” in a common event and the affinity to the art movement of Surrealism.
These are elements that mark also other photographers of Magnum agency and determine the style that still today is proper of first jobs of these photographers.
